In memory of Jean Fribbens

Jean Fribbens sadly passed away in the morning of 26th August, aged 92. Jean volunteered in the Torremolinos Cudeca charity shop for many years until returning to the Exeter in the UK in 2017. She and her husband, Ken, lived in Torremolinos for over 26 years, forming part of the British community, members of the British Legion as well as giving time to friends, neighbours and local charities.

Ken passed away in 2019 but Jean carried on until a fall at her apartment in Exeter made her bed-ridden. Her health gradually deteriorated. Early this summer she was barely able to communicate, eat or drink and it is a mark of her will to live that she lasted until 26th August when she finally peacefully passed over to be with Ken, 72 years after they married.

In lieu of flowers, Jean’s family invites you to make a donation to Fundación Cudeca which provides end of life care for those in Andalucía, regardless of their nationality and was dear to Jean’s heart.
