THE 10/40 MODEL FOR BEST CARE FOR THE DYING PERSON

The International Collaborative’s innovative 10/40 Model for Best Care for the Dying Person is a continuous quality improvement programme that can transform care for the dying within a clinical environment in a measurable and sustainable way. At Summer School, we will explore the main components of the model and give delegates an understanding of how they can implement it in their own clinical setting.

RESEARCH IN END-OF-LIFE CARE

Providing opportunities to participate in major international research is a core aim of the International Collaborative, and Summer School is a key driver in the development of the project portfolio. This year, delegates can participate in a range of research workshops on topics including the iLIVE project, international benchmarking, the Serious Illness Conversation Programme, and the 10/40 Model for Best Care for the Dying Person.

IMPROVING CLINICAL CARE

Join our comprehensive workshops focused on
improving clinical care for dying patients. Learn about the crucial role of volunteer services in end-of life care, explore evidence-based strategies for quality improvement, and gain insights from a literature review of the latest research. We’ll also address contemporary ethical issues, equipping you to provide compassionate, informed care during this
critical phase.

THEMED SESSIONS

Our range of themed sessions will include dedicated time for our Project Groups to meet and progress their work, as well as a workshop on communication at the end of life that will help clinicians to navigate sensitive conversations with patients and families. We will also explore public engagement with death and dying, with the aim of fostering greater understanding and openness around these
important, often challenging, topics.
