Established in 2014, the International Collaborative for Best Care for the Dying Person brings together a global group of leading thinkers, practitioners, and researchers, who share a vision for a world where all people experience a good death as an integral part of their individual life, supported by the very best personalized care.
Next May in Fundacion Cudeca we are hosting the Summer School for the International Collaborative for the Best Care for the Dying Person. A two days event to talk and present new findings about Palliative Care.

Project Groups
Care for the Dying: The 10/40 Model for Best Care for the Dying Person
The International Collaborative Facilitators Network is a group of health care professionals. They are responsible for the implementation and dissemination of their care plans based on the International Collaborative 10/40 Model of Best Care for the Dying Person within their region/state/country. They come together twice a year in person with 4 zoom meetings a year to share learning for further development and research. During Summer School, the Facilitator Network will be sharing their progress and is open to any health care professional working in this area of interest
Research
Cui- DAR sessions will be in Spanish and led by the Cudeca Cui-Dar team. Cui-DAR is a Spanish EOL care plan based on the International Collaborative for Best Care for the Dying Person´s 10/40 Model. Participants attending this project group will receive a comprehensive presentation of Cui-DAR, together with practical clinical sessions where they will have the opportunity to learn how to use and implement it in their own clinical environment.
Improving Clinical Care
The Serious Illness Care Programme (developed at Ariadne Labs, Harvard University), is an intervention to improve communication, care planning and quality of life for patients with serious illness. Members of the International Collaborative have been working independently with the Serious Illness Care Programme in their own countries, and during Summer School will be working towards the integration of these activities into a structured research and development theme.
Project Groups
The EU Marie Skłodowska Curie Action Doctoral Network programme provides funding for the implementation of doctoral programmes by partnerships of organisations from different sectors across Europe and beyond to train highly skilled doctoral candidates, stimulate their creativity, enhance their innovation capacities and boost their employability in the long-term. This Summer School project group will work on an initial proposal for the development of a doctoral network across the International Collaborative.
