Digital volunteering... YES!

At the beginning of this year, several research projects have been launched within the line of volunteering to accompany patients and their families, subsidised by the "la Caixa" Foundation and which, in this way, are added to the project financed by the European Union under the framework of a Programme for Research and Innovation - Horizon 2020. In the iLIVE project there is also a specific group of volunteers of which CUDECA is a member.

The innovative aspect of these projects is the use that will be made of new technologies, either through a phone call, video call or through an APP. In these times of pandemic, where isolation and loneliness have become so evident, it is vital to be able to once again provide all the patients and families cared for by CUDECA with the accompaniment of a volunteer.

They are working on them with the projection that specific training in new technologies can coexist in the future with face-to-face volunteering and, thus, be able to better meet the needs at the end of life.
