The Marines visit Cudeca Hospice!
Benalmádena, 8th May 2015 A group of North American Marines from vessel USS MC Faul DDg-74, with leader Thinh D.Le. They came as volunteers to the Palliative Care Center of Cudeca Hospice in Benalmadena, to carry out some manual work for the community carried out in the proud American tradition.
Our sincere thanks go to soldiers Joseph Han, kelvin Boyer, Cory McClair, Trae Wicker, Nico Cottone y Duo Zhou, together with the Captain Thinh D. Le, benches and railings were painted as well as some of the Center´s lamps were repaired by them.
Also, the Marines made the most of the occasion by visiting the facilities with Katie O´Neill, our Co-ordinator of the Cudeca Charity Shops who collected them and later returned them to the Malaga Port.
After the efforts carried out in record time in a little over 2 hours, our visitors had a refreshing drink and some cake in the dining room prepared by our colleague Katie as well as had their photo taken at the entrance to our facilities together with Sergiy Barabás, Head of Maintainence, Nurse Alicia Nebro, and Rocío Torres, Communications and Fundraising Manager.
Nowadays, more than 220 patients and their families are assisted free of charge each week with our “special way of caring” thanks to our professional team of Doctors, phsycologists, physiotherapists, nurses and volunteers.
Thanks to the Charity contribution and collaboration carried out by these Marines, we will be able to carry on giving life to the days of those that most need it.
