Joan Hunt OBE, Founder and Honorary President  received in her home a numerous and honored representation of the La Cala de Mijas Lions Club who kindly presented a donation cheque of €750 to her, raised by The Great British Beard Off to help the hospice.

Margaret Bobowicz, President of the La Cala de Mijas Lions Club, presented Joan with a cheque for €750 to be used to help continue her dream, adding life to days to those who need it. The donation had been raised by the Social Secretary’s event where her partner, Jerry Long, decided he would shave off his beard to raise money for the local community. This generous gesture was very much appreciated by Joan who said she was proud to have been associated with the Lions over many years. Many members of the Club have benefitted from the care given by the team at the hospice, and most recently they lost Lion David Moore to cancer. He and his family were kindly helped by CUDECA during such a traumatic time for them. “It is at times like these that Joan’s dream is so appreciated by everyone who is assisted by such wonderful people who are there for us all”, stated Margaret Bobowicz, La Cala de Mijas Lions President.
