The Councillor of Education, Equality and Solidarity visits the Hospice Centre
Benalmadena, 25th May 2011.
On the 25th May 2011, Cudeca had the pleasure of a visit from Remedios Herrero, Councillor of Education, Equality and Solidarity of the Benalmádena Town Hall and Yolanda Peña Vera, who presented us with a cheque for 2.400€. This money was raised from a project organised by Remedios Herrero called “One child, One Euro”. Joan Hunt, O.BE. President and Founder, Susan Hannam, Medical Director and Rocío Torres, Manager of the Communications and Fund Raising Dept. at Cudeca, accepted this generous donation on behalf of the Hospice, which will contribute towards Cudeca being able to continue offering its Special Kind of Caring to patients with advanced cancer and support to their families.
During the last few days, the Education Dept. of the Benalmadena Town Hall has celebrated its 2nd “Jornadas de Solidaridad” (charity days) and Cudeca played an active part in the closing session in which we received an award on voluntary work in recognition of the work that Cudeca carries out thanks to the more than 800 volunteers that help us Give Life to the Days to our patients, completely free of charge.
Cudeca is sincerely grateful for the continuous support received from the Benalmadena Town Hall.
