Sunflower Campaign: Energy to Add Life to the Days, to support 2 home health care teams
The campaign aims to fund two complete home care teams and their vehicles and it will run during November and December 2023 and January 2024, aims to raise at least €250,000. More información & to donate on www.sunflowermovement.org
The care provided by Cudeca is mainly in the patients' homes thanks to its 9 home care teams. These teams are made up of doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers, supported by volunteers. These teams are coordinated with the Primary Care Centres of the Andalusian Health Service.
The Hospice also has a Centre in Benalmádena, the only one of its kind in Spain, where the In-Patient Unit, Day Centre and Rehabilitation Unit are located, supported by Physiotherapy programmes.
In the last 10 years, Cudeca Hospice has increased the number of people it serves annually by almost 250%, from 727 in 2012 to 1,800 in 2022.
In 2023, due to this increase, the Hospice needed to increase the number of home care teams from 7 to 9 teams. But, by 2024, they do not have enough funds to maintain them.
That is why Cudeca is launching the micro-donation campaign "Sunflower Movement: Energy to Add Life to the Days", with the aim of raising €250,000 to maintain, for 1 more year, these 2 extra home care teams, also covering its 2 vehicles.
With the support of society, Cudeca Hospice will be able to:
- Care for and accompany more people at the end of life: the 2 new teams will care for an average of 400 patients per year and support more than 800 relatives/caregivers.
- Increase the quality of care: even more quality time will be dedicated to each patient and their relatives.
