Summary – Cudeca Summer at the Assitential department 2021
As every year, with the arrival of the summer season, care staff ask for their well-deserved holidays.
This year was no exception, despite the fact that this summer we are still under the threat of COVID 19 and the difficulty involved in finding staff to replace colleagues during their break. Fortunately, our care activity has not stopped either on the ward or at home.
This year we have maintained and even increased the number of patients and relatives attended to compared to previous years, thanks to the 7 complete home teams and the 24-hour assistance in our Hospitalisation Unit.
For this we have been able to find medical professionals, nurses and psychologists with training in Palliative Care, to continue offering "our special way of caring" as some of these professionals have been trained with us. Our training courses and even our Masters in Palliative Care that we have been running for several years in collaboration with the University of Malaga, which, with great success in terms of attendance, satisfaction with the contents-professors and professional opportunities for the students who have taken them, has facilitated and helped in the selection of these trained personnel.
It is with great satisfaction that we inform you that this has allowed us to attend to our patients and their families without reducing the quality of our care.
Thank you to our care team and to the new recruits for the work they have done.
