Successful Laude International School Charity Danceathon
On Friday 28th October, Laude San Pedro International College held a very special non-uniform day. The school celebrated a ’Halloween Danceathon’ that saw students from all key stages including Early Years, Primary and Secondary, staff and even parents, dressed up in their spookiest outfits, dancing their little hearts away, raising funds and awareness for the Cudeca Hospice.
The event took place at the school’s sports hall and began with a stunning opening dance number by Dance GCSE students, followed by a presentation by Cudeca representative Esther Ráez and ended with everybody dancing to the all time favourite ‘Time Warp’. BBC International Award Winning Singer Tom Solomon was amongst the crowd and came forth to the stage when prompted and wowed the crowd singing an acapella version of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.
The Halloween Danceathon was organised in conjunction with Talk Radio Europe who will host a Telethon in aid of the Cudeca Hospice on November 25th. In order to participate, all students, staff and parents contributed a minimum donation of 1€. A total of 840.37€ was raised and will be added to the total money raised at the TRE Telethon, helping TRE reach closer to their €100.000 target.
