Meeting of Cudeca Hospice & Mijas Town Hall
On the 21st of February our Chief Executive and Medical Director, Dr. Marisa Martín, and the Institutions Relations Manager, Aurea Peralta, met with the Mayor of Mijas Town Hall, Josele González; and the Councillor for Social Services, Hipólito Zapico to explain the current situation regarding patients attended and their needs in the municipality of Mijas, as well as to propose new volunteer projects including paediatric care.
"With a grant for Cudeca Hospice of 40,000 euros, the Mijas Town Hall has paid for the palliative care in this Hospice of almost 90 people, from the municipality of Mijas, suffering with cancer and other advanced illnesses" explained the Mayor of Mijas Town Hall, who stressed that in these two difficult years of the pandemic "the grants along with what they raise with the charity shop in the Boulevard of La Cala has been able to ensure this much needed care for many residents in the municipality of Mijas."
The Cudeca Hospice gives end of life palliatuve care to people with cancer and other advanced illnesses, "the vast majority of whom we care for in their own homes", stressed Marisa Martín, who added that "the greatest value of Cudeca Hospice right now is what is not seen, the home care programme where Mijas has been allocated a team with its doctors and nurses, psychologists and social workers. Mijas is the municipality that supports Cudeca's work the most financially but they also support us by being present in everything we do. "
We would like to thank Mijas Town Hall for all their important support.
