CUDECA and Yolanda Hurtado, Cudeca volunteer, receive SuperCuidadores awards
On 26 September, Cudeca Hospice and Yolanda Hurtado, a Cudeca volunteer, received recognition at the SuperCuidadores Awards, organised by the International University of La Rioja at the Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare Auditorium.
The awards were in the category "Associations, Foundations, NGOs and Third Sector" for the care developed by Cudeca for carers, elderly or dependent people, as well as other vulnerable groups, improving their quality of life and in the category "Professional Caregiver" for the story "Amor del puro" by Yolanda Hurtado.
Mayca Campos, ambassador of Cudeca, and Yolanda Hurtado, volunteer of Cudeca, received the awards.
The presentation ceremony was given by the acting Minister of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare , María Luisa Carcedo, who advocated to "professionalize and dignify" the figure of the caregiver, both family and professional, "to improve their quality of life, as well as that of the elderly, sick, disabled or dependent whom they care for".
The event was presented by Juani Loro, journalist, and was attended by María Luisa Carcedo Roces, Minister of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare; Ana Isabel Lima Fernández, Secretary of State for Social Services; Aurelio López-Barajas, CEO of SuperCuidadores; and Rafael Puyol, Chairman of the UNIR Board of Directors.
These awards recognize the work of family and professional caregivers, as well as those companies, organizations and institutions that develop programs and actions focused on the figure of the caregiver and people in situations of disability and / or dependency, as well as other vulnerable groups. Social Responsibility and Work-Life Balance measures were also recognized.
