We present the results of the project "Adding life to the days of children and adolescents with advanced and terminal illnesses" financed by The Rafa Nadal Foundation

During the year 2024, Fundación Cudeca has been developing a project aimed at paediatric patients and their families, which was the winner of the 2nd Call for Prizes of the Rafa Nadal Foundation.

This call aims to recognise social initiatives that generate real changes in different areas, being the case of Fundación Cudeca, the promotion of health and well-being through the improvement of the quality of life of people living in the province of Malaga, who suffer from a condition or disease that limits or threatens their lives (usually chronic diseases and without curative treatment).

Thanks to the funding of this project it has been possible to develop complementary therapies with children and adolescents, such as music therapy or animal therapy, specific protocols have been developed for each therapy, and different activities have been carried out both for patients and to promote the self-care of their families, thanks to the support of volunteers.

On 13 February, an awareness-raising talk was held for healthcare professionals at the Hospital Costa del Sol in Marbella, which reviewed the activities carried out with paediatric patients during 2024, highlighting the work of the Cudeca Foundation's paediatric palliative care team, made up of a doctor, nurse, psychologist, social worker and physiotherapist.
