New Cudeca charity furniture shop in Cala de Mijas!
On October 5th the Mijas Town Hall handed over the keys of the municipal premises where we are going to open our new charity furniture shop, number 24, with the aim of raising funds to continue our special kind of caring.
This setting, which is located at number 5 of the Boulevard de La Cala de Mijas, is 130 square meters and will be the first charity shop. The town hall has leased the property free of charge for 4 years with the option of renovation.
Andres Ruiz, Councillor for Heritage and Maria Carmen González, Councillor for Health with the Mijas Town Hall were present at the event; and the Chief Executive and Medical Director, Marisa Martín and Institutional Relations, Aurea Peralta with the Cudeca Hospice were also present.
Marisa Martin commented tas she received the keys that the charity shops are essential to continue caring, and with a place as good as La Cala de Mijas we will surely get through these difficult times as with your help.
The Councillor, Andres Ruiz explained that the property is located in an important place within the town and said: "The main source of income for Cudeca are their charity shops and from the City Council we want to support the commendable work they do every day in the palliative care for cancer". Likewise, the Councillor, Mª Carmen González emphasized the joint work between the local administration and the foundation to arrive at this agreement.
