Intensification of home care in palliative care for patients and their families in Malaga 2024
On 4 September, Cudeca Foundation signed an agreement with the Department of Social Rights, Diversity, Equality and Accessibility of Malaga City Council, granting the organisation a nominative subsidy of €28,800. Thanks to this funding, the project ‘Intensification of home care in palliative care for patients and their families in Malaga 2024’ has been underway since last January.
The objectives of this project, for which Fundación Cudeca is receiving the support of Malaga City Council, are focused on improving the quality of life, alleviating suffering and promoting the physical and functional autonomy, as well as decision-making, of people with advanced or terminal illness in the city of Malaga, who have to face the end-of-life stage. It promotes care that ensures dignity and peace in the process of dying, keeping patients in their own home as long as this is their wish and their situation allows it.
The families of patients cared for by CUDECA are also beneficiaries of this project, as they receive support and emotional support, and recognition as a fundamental measure to ensure their autonomy and self-care. Through its actions, this project promotes higher standards of health and well-being for patients and their families, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 3 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
All this is being done through an interdisciplinary and comprehensive work model, which addresses the needs of patients to reduce the impact of the disease on a personal, psychological and social level, providing the highest possible quality of life and a dignified end-of-life process.
For CUDECA it is important for society to be aware of our work, and to know about this project and its contribution by the Malaga City Council. To materialise our recognition, this funding has been disseminated in all the charity shops of the entity in the capital:
