Inauguration of the new Cudeca Hospice Charity Shop in Málaga
On Wednesday 1st July, the Cudeca Hospice opened their new Charity Shop in Málaga, located at the Plaza María Guerrero, nº 6 (next to Plaza de la Merced).
Attending were: José Luís Ruíz, Delegate of the Andalusian Government; Ana Carmen Mata, Third Vice President of the Málaga Province Diputation; and from the Málaga Town Hall, Gemma del Corral, Vice-Mayor of Culture, Education and Youth; Ruth Sarabia, General Director of Social Rights, Citizen Participation, Immigration and Cooperation toward Development; and Estefanía Martín, Councillor of the Socialist Group; and from Fundación Cudeca, Marisa Martín, Chief Executive and Medical Director; y Rafael Olalla, Deputy Chief Executive-Financial.
The Cudeca Charity Shops, manned by groups of volunteers, constitute of the most important source of financing for the foundation.
More than 550 volunteers help our Charity Shops each year receiving and classifying the donations of clothes, hand bags, accessories, shoes, household goods, books, children´s clothes and much more, they then put them up for sale at a special Charity price, that can then be reused for another person.
Each donation or purchase that you make at our Charity Shops helps Cudeca to continue caring for people with cancer and other advanced, incurable illnesses , and provide support to their families.
All of the income from the Charity Shops will be earmarked to cover the costs of the Assistential Programs of Cudeca Hospice, who each year assist more than 900 people with Cancer and other non-curable illnesses in an advanced stage as well as offering support to their families. All of the services are totally free of charge.
Cudeca Charity Shops are located throughout the province of Málaga, in Alhaurín El Grande, Álora, Arroyo de la Miel, Coín, Estepona, Fuengirola, Málaga (Plaza María Guerrero, calle Escultor Paco Palma in El Palo and calle Puerta Nueva), Marbella, Nerja, Torre del Mar and Torremolinos.
