Cudeca participates in the Asturian Palliative Care Conference ‘Opening Pathways’.
Cudeca Hospice has participated in the II Asturian Palliative Care Conference 'Opening Pathways'. This event is organised by the Asturian Society of Palliative Care (SACPAL) and the Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology of the Principality of Asturias (SGGPA). It took place on 17 February at the Central University Hospital of Asturias in Oviedo. This conference, aimed at the participation of health professionals, focused on the study of end-of-life care, with a "wide range of presentations", as explained by the organisers.
The round table in which the Cudeca Foundation participated was aimed at presenting other visions within the philosophy of Palliative Care, specifically in our case, the one provided by Cudeca Hospice, which is characterised by comprehensive patient care to meet the medical, psychological and spiritual needs of patients.
The President of SACPAL, Dr. Juan Santos, has already visited Cudeca's centre in Benalmádena. His intention was to learn about the care model in place with the idea of replicating it in a similar Hospice in his region. One of the fundamental objectives of the Cudeca Foundation is the transmission of knowledge and the study of different models to achieve better quality Palliative Care that can reach all patients who need it. To further this goal, the Cudeca Institute for Studies and Research was set up.
