On Sunday 25th of June, Santa Maria Golf Club will be celebrating their 25th anniversary since opening in 1992 with their Santa Mª Golf Club Captain´s Charity Tournament.
 
This year's Captain, Jeremy Byrne, and has chosen Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice as charity to fundraise for and the Captain´s Charity Tournament will be organized by the ladies Margot Jann, Gill Ballard and Patricia Reynolds.
 
The format of the day is an 18hole better ball competition for over 100 players starting at 9.30am with a shotgun start.  Prior to the start of the game the sponsors of holes will go to their respective tee or green to show what business they are advertising. Free drinks or snacks will be offered to the players and as they go out to play they will be given goody bags of food to sustain them, provided by one of the main sponsors. Players will be back to the club house about 2pm for lunch. 
 
Before they go out to play they will pay for their game and be sold raffle tickets which will be drawn when they return (more than 70 prizes). They will also have the opportunity of viewing the silent auction of about 30 restaurant/hairdressing/beauty/golf vouchers which they can offer written bids for.
 
During their lunch they will watch and take part in a Grand Auction of larger items like golf trolley, holidays and voucher for Helicopteros Sanitarios, among others.
 
Visitors Price for the tournament is 80€ and members 30€, including a shared buggy, goody snack bag, cava or beer on the 7th hole, lunch with a drink, prize giving, fabulous raffle, silent and grand auction.
