Epic mountain climb of 16kms from sea level to 636m on behalf of Cudeca Hospice
On Monday June 6th, 2016 Debi Bond will set off from Algarrobo at 8 am hoping to finish at Parque Arroyo Lara opposite Bar Lorena, Competa sometime later! This will be the culmination of a weekend of fund raising activities on behalf of Cudeca Cancer Hospice.
After being diagnosed with Kidney Cancer last year I was knocked sideways. I was lucky that an operation and the removal of a kidney cured me and I am now fitter and healthier than I have ever been. The whole journey has been life changing, but most definitely in a positive way.
As a Cudeca volunteer of many years I know the great work they do within the Hospice movement here in the Costa del Sol and with your support, gradually they have moved out to reach more and more people in the inland villages of Competa and beyond. I therefore make no apologies for asking you once again to dig deep and donate whatever you can afford.
So on their behalf and to challenge myself, I have been training for this monstrous ride with the help and support of Competa based Personal Trainer and Triathlon Coach Karen Parnell of Chili Leisure (www.chilibandb.com) who have also provided me with the perfect bike.
Karen will be accompanying me up the mountain feeding me jelly babies and words of encouragement so please come out and support us on route or cheer us across the finishing line, it would mean so much
It’s easier than ever to donate, http://www.cudeca.org/iniciativas-solidarias/es/evento/coast-to-competa donating is commission free or you can stop us at any point or meet us at the end
