Benalmádena, 15th March 2012

This annual event will take place on Sunday 20th May and will commence with the annual 5 km sponsored walk, for those who wish to participate from around the village of Competa, finishing at the Alberdini Rural Hotel in Competa.

 

The first sponsored walk started in 2006 with a small group of friends but has grown year on year, over 60 participating in 2011.  One of the walkers Lily walked at 8 ¾ months pregnant and her ¾ is now Leyla, a bouncing 9 month old baby girl!!  The annual event has so far, raised 19,600€ for the Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice which provides care to advanced cancer sufferers and their families within the province of Malaga.

 

The Alberdini Hotel will then host the remainder of the day from 11am; with lots of entertainment for both adults and children.  The lower car park will be a Open Air General Market with something for everyone.  The upper area will have a dedicated children’s activity area to include face painting.  In addition there will be a buffet terrace serving hot and cold food and also childrens food, along with live music and a raffle.

This promises to be a fantastic day, so please come along and join us, have fun and at the same time, support your local Hospice. Cudeca is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization, providing palliative care to people with advanced non-curable cancer within the province of Malaga, helping over 7000 patients per year.  Last years event raised 4100€, let’s see if we can beat that amount for 2012, Cudeca’s 20th anniversary to help Cudeca to continue to provide their “Special Kind of Caring.”
