CLC World Club Foundation visits us!
A few days ago, we had the pleasure of receiving a visit from members of the CLC World Club Foundation here at our Hospice Centre in Benalmadena.
Our visitors were the president of the CLC World Club Foundation, José Luis Mella; Head of Communication, Nuria Martin; CLC World ambassador and volunteer Hernán Lara, and CLC World and Cudeca volunteer José Sedeño, who were met by Cudeca Foundation’s Dr Marisa Martín Roselló, CEO and Medical Director; Rafael Olalla, deputy CEO and Financial Director, and Natalia Aparicio from the Communication and Fundraising Department.
The visit began in the administrative area, moving on to the medical offices where our guests were able to talk to health professionals (doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers and physiotherapists) about our different care programmes.
Following this our visitors were accompanied to the In-Patients’ Unit by nursing supervisor José Manuel Lapeira. This nine-room module is where more complicated cases can be admitted, at the request of Cudeca’s home care teams, and given continuous care when the patient’s symptoms and necessities make it difficult to treat them at home.
From one of the rooms our guests were able to look out over the marvellous garden and fish pond which is lovingly looked after by our volunteer José Sedeño.
At the end of the visit, our honorary president and founder, Joan Hunt, met with CLC World Foundation visitors and CLC World president José Luis Mella committed to raising awareness about Cudeca’s care programmes and fundraising events as well as continuing to help us care for patients with advanced, non-curable illnesses.
We would like to give sincere thanks to the CLC World Foundation for its visit.
