20 km sponsored walk
Benalmádena, 20th April 2016
On the 9th of April a group of friends organised a 20 km sponsored walk in memory of Gill Ballard´s sister, coinciding with her birthday, to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research and Cudeca Hospice.
43 walkers set off from Puerto Banus to Harmons Bar Elviria. It was 20 km on boardwalk and beach. Everyone was in high spirits and they stopped at two lovely beach bars and had refreshments along the way. All walkers got sponsors and they were amazed at the result.
The organisers split their collection between the two charities Brain Tumour Research and Cudeca Hospice for their amazing work here in Spain and a huge 3,500 euros was donated to Cudeca Hospice last Friday.
Cudeca would like to give their heartfelt thanks to Gillian Ballard and her supporters for their kindness and efforts in organising this sponsored walk. Gillian is hopeful that she and her friends will be able to raise more funds in the future for their chosen two charities.
