Alhaurín El Grande Town Hall Grant Concession
Last December, the Town Hall of Alhaurín el Grande awarded Cudeca Hospice Foundation a grant to finance the project ‘Palliative care for patients and families of Alhaurín el Grande: walking towards compassionate communities’, in its call for grants on a competitive basis to associations and non-profit organisations 2024.
This grant contributes to the maintenance of the palliative care service provided by CUDECA in the municipality, in which during 2024, 50 patients have been cared for, with an average age of 73 years, and 89% of them have oncological illnesses.
The objectives of the Home Care service are focused on improving the quality of life, alleviating suffering and promoting the autonomy of people with advanced illness who have to face the end-of-life stage. It promotes care that ensures dignity and peace in the dying process, keeping patients in their own home, and involving CUDECA's care volunteers to generate community networks against social isolation and unwanted loneliness.
We would like to thank the Town Hall of Alhaurín el Grande, on behalf of the entire Cudeca Hospice Foundation team.
