Dr. Marisa Martín Rosello, awarded as UMA Alumni
On its 25th anniversary, the University of Malaga Alumni Association, Alumni UMA held a commemorative event on 9th February to distinguish personalities linked to the social, political and cultural life of Malaga and our CEO and Medical Director, Dr. Marisa Martín Roselló, was one of them named Alumni of Honour.
An act that reflects the work of all those rectors and also of students who studied at the UMA and who have achieved a relevant professional career.
Members of Honour to the artist Elena Laverón; to the president of the agri-food cooperative Dcoop, Antonio Luque; to the chef of the Kaleja restaurant Dani Carnero; to the ambassador of the Malaga candidature for Expo 2027, Juan José Escobar Stemmann; to the artistic director of the Picasso Museum Malaga, José Lebrero and to the president of the Provincial Court of Malaga, Lourdes García Ortiz.
Alumni of Honour, Alumni UMA wanted to recognise the illustrator and director of the María de la O school in the Los Asperones neighbourhood, Patxi Velasco Fano; the CEO and Medical Director of Cudeca Foundation, Dr. María Luisa Martín Rosello; the president of the Confederation of Andalusian Businessmen (CEA), Javier González de Lara; the President of Unicaja Banco, Manuel Azuaga; the Andalusian Regional Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Arturo Bernal and the Andalusian Regional Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds, Carolina España.
Alumni UMA also awarded a commemorative distinction to the University of Malaga for its 50th anniversary.
The event, which was held in the Auditorium of the Picasso Museum, was presided over by the rector of the UMA, José Ángel Narváez, and by the president of the Alumni, Remedios Martel. It also featured a performance by the trio Ensemble de la Málaga Camerata.
