Cudeca Institute visits the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO)
Cudeca Institute continues its outreach and collaboration with different institutions and groups working in the field of Palliative Care. Last December, Cudeca's Nursing Coordinator, Mª Jesús de la Ossa, had the opportunity to visit the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), which will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. The visit took place from 15 to 17 December.
The visit served to validate the CUI-DAR Care Plan for the Last Days, which has been developed by the Foundation. This is a plan of care for patients at the end of life that is carried out in collaboration with the ICO. De la Ossa met with Dr. Cristina Lasmarías and Dr. Gil Moncayo, Coordinator of the Psychoneurology Unit, ICO-Hospitalet, who already has a long history of collaboration with Cudeca in various research projects.
The collaboration with ICO is also materialised in the internship programmes. Since the beginning of the collaboration 12 years ago, Cudeca has received around fifteen students on internships for the Master in Palliative Care that this institution carries out and who have been able to develop their work within the framework of Cudeca's Hospice.
