The ratification of the agreement, which has been carried out in the facilities of the palliative care center of the organization, will boost the Home Care Programme.

Unicaja Foundation,  being true supporters of many different CUDECA activities since 2006, has recently visited the palliative care centre in Benealmeda.
Ana Cabrera, Head of Social Solidarity and Education of the Unicaja Foundation, has visited the facilities accompanied by Marisa Martín, Chief Executive and Medical Director.

This visit has confirmed one more time the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the two institutions for the development of the Cudeca Home Care Programme, as well as other fundraising initiatives.

Their support is part of one of the priority strategic lines of the Unicaja Foundation, which aims to help groups in situation of vulnerability paying special attention to the ones with serious illnesses, contributing to improving their quality of life.

Home Care Programme

More than 1,400 people with cancer and other advanced illnesses are treated annually through a comprehensive approach by the Cudeca Hospice which, for more than 25 years, has been caring for not only of the symptoms, but also the emotional and social dimension of both the patients themselves and their families, completely free of charge.

These teams are made up of a doctor and a nurse, who are complemented by psychologists and social workers with the aim of offering care adapted to each patient's situation.

The Cudeca Hospice has already helped 15,000 people since 1992 through its assistance programmes: Home Care, Day Unit, In-Patient Unit, Psychosocial Programme, Rehabilitation Programme and Counselling.
In addition, it actively develops programmes of study, training, research and awareness in palliative care, both for professionals and for volunteers and family members.
