Cudeca Hospice 2016 Annual Results Presentation
We have celebrated our Presentation of the Home Care, Teaching, Researching, Volunteering and Economic 2016 Results at the Cajamar Hall of the financial entity in Malaga.
The event was held in the city centre of Malaga to inform our volunteers and friends.
Attending were many representatives of public institutions, companies, organizations, together with volunteers, friends and many supporters, including Angeles Arias Rodriguez, Western Malaga Area Manager of Cajamar; Julio Andrade, Councilor for Citizen Participation of the City of Málaga; Doctor José Antonio Ortega Dominguez, Vicepresident 1st Colegio de Médicos de Málaga; Antonio Mª Lara, General Foundation of the University of Málaga FGUMA; Luisa Cañadas, Carrefour; Belen Gaspar, Luis Olivares Foundation; Sebastián Fernández, Responsible for the Social Area of the Málaga CF Foundation; and, on Cudeca Foundation behalf, Dra. María Luisa Martín, Chief Executive & Medical Director and Rafael Olalla, Deputy Chief Executive & Financial Director, together with volunteers and supporters.
The event was inaugurated by Angeles Arias, Julio Andrade, Dr. José Antonio Ortega and Rafael Olalla.
Dr. María Luisa Martín, our Chief Executive & Medical Director explained the result of the caring provided during 2016 to 1,270 patients by the 5 Home Care Teams and 235 patients cared for in the In-Patient Unit. She also highlighted as future projects: the improvement of Palliative Care for children and also the construction of the Training Centre as a way to finance Cudeca´s care and spread the knowledge of Palliative Care among national & international professionals. She ended saying: “the mission of Cudeca is to assure dignity, hope, election & control for all the patients and their families at the end of life”.
Rafael Olalla, our Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director highlighted the positive economic result for the fourth consecutive year. "It is 25 years of solid growth, with diversified revenues, and extraordinary support from the entire community globally," he added. "Still, every year we must continue to strive to find the 3.5 million euros annual budget that the Cudeca project costs today. 15% of the income comes from a public source; the rest of it comes from the generosity of the community. "
