Good Companions Club support to Cudeca Hospice

Susan Hannam, Vice President of Cudeca Hospice, was privileged to receive a very generous donation of 8,500€ at the Annual General Meeting of the Good Companions Club on 9th February.
This is the 21st annual donation that has been made to Cudeca and brings the cumulative total for the past 21 years to 168,185 euros.
The Club was inaugurated by volunteers from the Fuengirola Charity shop in 1995, and has lived up to its promise of making an annual donation towards the care of patients in our Cudeca Hospice.
Our Fuengirola Charity shop was opened in 1992 and it was in 1995 that the shop volunteers felt that they wanted to do something more to support Cudeca’s special care. Over the years membership has grown and the activity of the Club provides many enjoyable events, the weekly meeting with Bingo etc, evening dinners and those great trips to different parts of Spain.
In return the members continue their promise to support Cudeca Hospice. To the end of 2015 Cudeca have cared for more than 11,000 patients, the majority at home with their family and for those that are alone or need special care we have our lovely In-Patient Unit with nine rooms.
Everyone in Cudeca send heartfelt thanks to all the members for their continued support to the Cudeca Hospice and congratulations on the great success of the Club. May it continue for many years to come.
At the moment the Club is looking for new members, please feel free to join them, you’ll be made very welcome. Good Companions meet each Tuesday at Manila Bar, in Los Boliches at 11.30 am for a social gathering, and their common interest is supporting Cudeca.
