Antonio Banderas and his "Lágrimas y Favores" Foundation always with Cudeca Hospice
Last Friday, March 27th, the “Lágrimas y Favores” Foundation, chaired by Antonio Banderas, handed over a gift cheque to the Cudeca Hospice - Cancer Care Foundation during a gala dinner organised by El Corte Inglés at the Diputación de Málaga (Provincial Government).
Antonio Banderas himself gave Dr. Marisa Martín, Cudeca Hospice's CEO and Medical Director, a cheque for €25,000, which shall be used to continue giving life to the days of over 900 patients with cancer and other advanced or terminal diseases through the multidisciplinary programmes: Home Care, Out –patient clinics, Counselling service, Day Care, Psychological an Social care, Day centre & Rehabilitation unit, and In-patient unit.
The University of Malaga, Caritas and the Corinto Foundation also received considerable donations throughout 2014 from the Lágrimas y Favores Foundation's solidarity projects.
Numerous celebrities from Malaga's society joined us for this key event: Malaga's Lord Mayor, Francisco de la Torre; President Elías Bendodo, Vice-President Ana Mata, Emiliana Jiménez, parlamentarian in charge of Specialised Help Centres and Jesús Fortes, delegated parlamentarian for Human Resources, on behalf of the Provincial Government; Chancellor Adelaida de la Calle and Vice-Chancellor Carlos de las Heras, on behalf of the University of Malaga; Juan Manuel Moreno, Chairman of the People's Party of Andalusia; José Luís Ruíz, Central Government Representative for Andalusia.
The Tears and Favours Foundation were represented by their Chairman, Antonio Banderas, Vice-Chairman Eduardo Rosell, their Treasurer, Javier Banderas and patrons.
Marisa Martín, CEO & Medical Director and Communications & Fundraising Manager, Rocío Torres, attended on behalf of the Cudeca Foundation, as well as Cudeca Ambassadors Domi del Postigo and Remedios Cervantes, who also doubled as master of ceremonies; Baroness Carmen Thyssen; Sandra García-Sanjuán, founder of the Starlite Gala; Paulino Plata, Chairman of the Port Authority and Counsellor for Culture; Antonio Pulido, Chairman of the Cajasol Foundation; the Director for External Relations of El Corte Inglés Málaga, Eduardo Barrero; holders of 7 Michelin Stars (Jordi Roca, David Muñoz, Diego Guerrero and Andrea Tumbarello); Malaga artists of the stature of Antonio Cortés; and many more friends and collaborators…
The “Lágrimas y Favores” Foundation was founded in 2010 for the dedicating its fullest efforts in collaborating with the University of Malaga and the Cudeca Hospice - Cancer Care Foundation in procuring educational funding for the underprivileged, and free of charge palliative care for people suffering from advanced cancer, providing support also to their families.
We shall therefore always grateful to the “Lágrimas y Favores” Foundation´s unconditional support, which is most welcome and necessary for Cudeca Hospice.
