We Visit the Benahavis Rotary Club, Costa del Sol
Benalmádena, 8th May 2015
On Wednesday we were invited to a weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Benahavis Costa del Sol in Cortijo de Ramiro, their “general quarters” in Guadalmina.
Thanks to the managerment of our Rotary friends Graciela Waen (Governer 2013-14 of the District 2203 of Rotary International), Nina Jarlov, Daniela Carabelli and Ramiro Gago; the Club Corporation, with Luís Martín as President 2014-2015, gave out the message of Cudeca´s current economic and assistential situation, presented by Rocío Torres, Comunication and Fundraising Manager.
In recognition of the backing from the Benahavis Rotary Club of Costa del Sol for the free-of-charge assistential programmes of Cudeca´s Palliative Care, we awarded a plaque of appreciation made by hand in porcelain by our volunteer Carmen Bernard.
We had the unexpected and very pleasant surprise of the Club giving us the Club Flag (see photo) as a gift of brotherhood from the President to the foundation that we have displayed with pride in the area of reception in our Palliative Care center in Benalmadena.
The “special way of caring” of the Cudeca Hospice has already helped care for more than 9000 people since 1992 through our Assitential Prgrammes, Home visit teams, Day unit, In-Patient unit, external consulation service, Pshyco-social Programme and Rehabilitation programme. Moreover, Cudeca Hospice works actively with study programmes, training, investigation and name awareness of Palliative Care for professionals as well as volunteers and family members.
Thanks to everyone that have contributed sustainably in time, like the Rotary Club of Benahavis Costa del Sol we can carry on giving “Life to the days” to those that need it most.
