Light a light 2014
Benalmádena, 18th December 2014
On the 12th December, Cudeca Hospice celebrated one more year, their Christmas ceremony “Light a Light”, as a special tribute to our loved ones that are no longer with us through a symbolical lighting of a candle. Thanks to all the people involved, we enjoyed a great soiree.
The brilliant acts of John Mathisen with his Euphonomium, Father Christmas´ presents with Leslie Thompson, the marvelous Benalmadena Chorus group, the children´s chorus group from Sunny view school called “Cantando entre Amigos”, the now traditional lighting of the Christmas lights of the center. All this helped to create a night full of emotions and feelings for all the patients, family and friends of Cudeca Hospice.
Apart from family and patients, other friends joined us like: Daniel Perez, Health Delegate of the Junta de Andalucia; Remedios Martel, member of the Andalusian Parliament; Paloma Garcia Mayoress of Benalmadena, Enrique Moya Town Councillor, Ana Macias The Participation and Quality Councillor; Adolfo Fernandez, the Tourism Councillor; Juan Olea, the Sports Councillor.
Other representatives of the Corporation who were also there were: Victor Navas and Mari Carmen Florido PSOE Councillors of Benalmadena and Jorge Martinez secretary of the retired people´s group “Anica Torres”.
Through the years, Cudeca Hospice has been able to assist more than 9000 patients that suffer advanced Cancer and that need special caring that the Foundation offers through it´s multidiscipline programs of home visits, in-patient unit, day unit, rehabilitation and psychological support coordinated from our center of palliative care. All of this help is offered free of charge.
Each year, more than 850 families are assisted by Cudeca Hospice in the province of Malaga being our main sources of financing the community´s solidarity as well as some grants given by public entities and the social commitment of private entities.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR HELPING US TO CARRY ON ADDING LIFE TO THE DAYS
